Hailing from Vienna’s vibrant electronic music scene, Operator Burstup stands as a multi-talented artist, musician and DJ whose captivating performances and innovative sounds have left an indelible mark on club culture. With a career spanning over three decades, he has graced the stages of renowned clubs, festivals and conventions, founded his own record label, and released an impressive catalog of albums with his band Schönheitsfehler and as a solo-artist.

Operator Burstup's musical journey began in Vienna, where he left an enduring legacy as the publisher of the first German-language hip-hop record in Austria (Schönheitsfehler “Broj Jedan” in 1994). He deejayed at Vienna Comic Con for a remarkable ten years. During this time, he honed his skills as a performer and developed a unique style that fused elements of Hip-Hop, Trip-Hop, Jungle, Drum'n'Bass, Jungletek, Breaks, and House. His ability to seamlessly blend these genres into a cohesive and captivating soundscape set him apart from his contemporaries. He had three number one hits in the Drum’n’Bass charts of mp3.com, he wrote music for movies and radio plays, and he performed in the ORF TV show MA2412.

As his reputation grew, Operator Burstup took his music beyond the borders of Austria. He graced the stages of prestigious conventions such as Eurofurence, Megaplex, Brasil Fur Fest, and Nordic Fuzz Con, leaving audiences mesmerized with his energetic performances, his scratching and his infectious beats. His music transcended linguistic barriers, connecting with diverse crowds who found common ground on the dance floor.

Undeterred by the boundaries of traditional music distribution, Operator Burstup ran his own record label, Duck Squad. This platform provided a creative outlet for himself and other artists, fostering a community of like-minded individuals who shared a passion for hip-hop. Through Duck Squad, he released several albums with his own band Schönheitsfehler, and bands such as Texta and Total Chaos, showcasing their musical prowess and earning critical acclaim.

Operator Burstup's dedication to pushing the boundaries of electronic music is evident in his constant exploration of new sounds and technologies. He regularly performs at VR events such as Furality and Placeholder Club, infusing his music with fresh ideas and innovative techniques. His ability to blend traditional instruments with electronic elements creates a unique and immersive listening experience that appeals to a wide range of music enthusiasts.

In addition to his artistic and musical endeavors, Operator Burstup is also known for his work as a journalist, DJ and host at Radio FM4, a popular radio station of national broadcasting corporation ORF. His contributions to the furry community have earned him widespread respect and admiration.

As Operator Burstup continues his musical journey, his star continues to rise. With a string of successful releases, captivating performances, and a reputation for artistic excellence, he stands as a testament to the transformative power of electronic music. His music inspires, captivates, and unites people from all walks of life, leaving an unforgettable imprint on the hearts and minds of his listeners.

Let's party! Another [Placeholder_Club] event is about to happen.

February 5, 2022 will be one of those legendary nights in VRChat again. Ten DJs, five hours of new  mixes, followed by an open end afterparty! Because this will be my eigth gig at PHC and I never played an opening set there, I agreed to do the opener this time. That means I'll start early, at 21:00 GMT (22:00 CET). But I won't be holding back -  I'll give you a brand new B-Step mix! I would love it if my friends could come early for the opening! ❤️

My collabo track with Dub Tribe Rising is out now

When I made my Dub Techno tune "Shokubō" in the summer of 2021, I didn't think that it would get thousands of plays on Soundcloud and Youtube, let alone inspire other musicans to record a new version of it. But that's what happened, and I am very grateful for it. The amazing singer Sabina Thompson and Dub producer/guitarist/space-echoist Thomas Panzenböck - a.k.a. Dub Tribe Rising - added their skills to the tune, which is now available on Spotify, Apple Music, Soundcloud and other platforms.

Here's the Youtube link:

This is another B-Step tune I just finished.
I had great fun making it and I hope you will enjoy listening to it.
In January, I'll play another B-Step DJ mix in La Boum Deluxe at radio FM4. It will be a one-hour set and I'm looking forward to it!
